AOF is an association that represents and protects the interests of Oregon State System of Higher Education faculty and professional staff before the Oregon Legislature and various state agencies. Our primary goal is to increase the quality of the professional working environment.
AOF advocates for competitive faculty salaries, benefits, retirement and workplace improvements for all OUS faculty and professional staff. Although AOF is not a labor union and does not collectively bargain with campuses, it works closely with collective bargaining units on four campuses and other faculty governance associations to hold campus administrations accountable for properly compensating their faculty members and distribute state-sponsored funds accordingly.
In order to protect faculty retirement benefits outside the legislative process, AOF monitors PEBB and participates in the PERS Coalition, which funds legal efforts to defend state employee pension plans in court proceedings.
